The room seemed to shrink, the walls closing in on him. His vision swam, and a strange buzzing filled his ears. The information in the file was a bomb that had detonated in his mind, shattering his world into a million pieces. The doctor was still speaking, but the words were garbled, meaningless.

His hands shook so violently that he couldn't keep them still. He felt a sudden, overwhelming urge to pace, to move, to do anything to distract himself from the horror that was unfolding. He rose from his chair, unable to sit still another moment, and began to stalk back and forth across the small room.

He wanted to scream, to tear his hair out, to shatter the quiet facade of the office. He felt trapped, suffocated by the walls and the silence. The world outside, the bustling city, the bright sunshine, suddenly felt distant and unreal, like a dream he had woken from.
