He stared at the webpage, the words mocking him. "The Future of Artificial Intelligence" by Sarah Chen. Liam had poured months into that essay. He’d barely slept, fuelled by caffeine and ambition. Now, some stranger, some… Sarah Chen, was taking credit. His vision swam.

He ripped the headphones from his head, the sudden silence amplifying the frantic thumping in his chest. A choked sob escaped his throat. He felt lightheaded, his legs unsteady as he stumbled toward the window. Outside, the city roared, but within him, a different kind of storm raged.

His hands shook so violently he could barely dial his phone. Each attempt was a fumble. He finally managed to punch in his lawyer's number, the digits swimming on the screen. He needed to make it stop. He just needed to make it all stop.
