Gemotions

The letter trembled in her hand. She felt the blood drain from her face, leaving her feeling lightheaded and weak. The world around her seemed to become muted, the colors washing out. She sank into the nearest chair, her legs failing to hold her upright. Tears welled in her eyes, blurring her vision. She felt a sharp pain in her chest, a physical manifestation of the betrayal she felt. Her lips moved, forming silent, frantic questions that no one could answer. She was alone, utterly and completely alone, in this new, terrifying reality.
