Gemotions

She reread the email, the words no less shocking the second time. She felt a cold dread creeping into her bones. The familiar comfort of her home suddenly felt alien, the walls seeming to shift and morph. She felt an overwhelming urge to flee, to disappear. She grabbed her keys and rushed out the door, without a coat, not caring where she was going, just needing to be away. Her breaths came in ragged gasps, her heart hammering against her ribs. The cool air did little to soothe the turmoil within.
