Gemotions

He paced back and forth, the photographs clutched in his sweaty fist. His great-aunt, the one everyone said was a spinster, with a baby in her arms, beaming. A man, with his arm around her, clearly the child’s father. He’d never heard of this man.

He felt a hot flush crawl up his neck, spreading across his face. He felt trapped. A strange, animalistic yelp escaped his throat. The very walls around him seemed to be closing in.

He collapsed onto the sofa, the pictures slipping from his grasp, their faces staring up at him like accusing eyes. All this time! He couldn't process it.
