Her breath hitched, a series of short, shallow gasps. She clutched her chest as if she could physically contain the panic. Mr. Bellweather, her physics teacher, was now among her followers on Instagram. He’d followed her. She couldn’t stop the flood of thoughts: Had he seen the picture of her eating ice cream? The unflattering selfie after gym class? Her mind raced, conjuring up the worst possible scenarios. She felt trapped, the walls of the classroom closing in around her, the air thick and hard to breathe.
