Gemotions

The world tilted. Mark felt the ground shift beneath him, the floor of the elevator becoming a terrifying, unreliable surface. He clutched the railing, his knuckles white. His vision blurred, the faces of the other passengers swimming in and out of focus. It couldn't be true. Not this. He reread the message a dozen times, each time the words searing themselves deeper into his memory, each time compounding his mounting dread. He began to mumble, a jumble of unintelligible phrases that quickly escalated to a rapid, panicked whisper.
