He saw the name tag. "Jessica from Camp Juniper." A cold sweat broke out across his forehead. Richard's hands started to shake. The world tilted slightly.

He was suddenly trapped in a memory. He could taste the metallic tang of fear, the scent of damp earth and pine needles. The laughter of others faded, replaced by an internal cacophony.

He forced a smile, but his lips felt stiff and unnatural. He tried to speak, but the words wouldn't come. Instead, a choked, "Juniper… that's… that's funny," escaped him.

He excused himself, his voice a cracked whisper, and fled to the nearest restroom. He stood under the cold water, trying to force the feeling to subside, but the memory was still there, vivid and sharp.
