Gemotions

The library. It was always the library. Of course, the damn article would be in the *library*. Emily spotted the headline from across the room, the words mocking her from the computer screen. Her legs felt like jelly. She gripped the edge of a table to steady herself. Her palms were slick with sweat.

She backed away slowly, her eyes fixed on the screen. The room swam, the hushed whispers of students morphing into a cacophony of judgment. How could they? How *dare* they? She wanted to scream, to lash out, to rip the computer from the wall.

She fled the building, the fluorescent lights of the library burning behind her. She pushed through the revolving doors, into the bright sunlight, and promptly stumbled. She needed to be alone. Needed to *breathe*. She didn't know how to do either.
