Gemotions

The gallery owner was being evasive. He dodged around her questions and would not give her a straight answer. She had been waiting for three days for a response. She kept checking her messages. Her mind was racing. She bit at the edges of her fingernails.

That evening, walking past a street performer, she saw it. The entire design of her work, "Ephemeral Bloom", tattooed on the performer’s chest. The shock of recognition was almost physical. She felt a tightness in her chest, a burning sensation in her throat. She struggled to breathe.
