Gemotions

The constant noise was making Amelia’s head pound. She’d tried earplugs, noise-canceling headphones, and even a white noise machine, but nothing seemed to work. She felt a throbbing sensation in her temples. The air in her own house was thick with the scent of sawdust and something… acrid. She needed silence.

She glanced at the half-finished knitting project in her lap, then tossed it aside. Concentrating was impossible. She marched over to her window, a restless energy coursing through her. She felt compelled to know, to understand, how much longer this would take. It felt like an eternity.
