"Another one," Sarah whispered under her breath as the drill screeched to life. She was already late. She had been late for the past week. Her foot tapped on the floor; a quick, staccato beat. She needed to leave, to get to the meeting. The chaos next door was making it impossible to focus.

She grabbed her keys and practically ran out the door. Her breath hitched as she hurried down the street. She glanced back at her house, at the neighbor's property, at the construction site. It was all so chaotic, all so slow.
