He cleared his throat loudly, the sound echoing in the small cubicle. Michael watched the new guy, Kevin, stare blankly at the spreadsheet. It was the same spreadsheet Michael had been staring at for years, the same formulas he knew like the back of his hand. He’d explained it twice already, yet Kevin still looked lost. "Right, so you're going to want to..." Michael started, his voice clipped. He ran a hand through his hair, a gesture that came a bit too frequently lately. A wave of heat washed over him. The air conditioning was failing again, just his luck.
