Gemotions

The hum of the airport grew deafening. Thomas ran a hand over his tired face. His father's birthday party was tonight. His flight was delayed, ruining his plans. He was always trying to be there for his dad, and this was an enormous disappointment.

He crossed his arms tightly across his chest, the gesture a futile attempt to contain his rising frustration. He glanced at his phone, checking the flight status for the hundredth time. The delay was holding.

He felt a tightness in his chest, as if a physical weight were pressing down. He stood up abruptly and started pacing back and forth, muttering to himself under his breath.
