Mark tapped his foot, the sound amplified in the otherwise silent workshop. He had a million things to do, but he needed Mr. Henderson's approval on the new chassis design. The deadline for the race was looming closer and closer, and he was getting close to the breaking point. His eyes flicked to the clock. He glanced at the empty work bench, which was usually covered in blueprints.

He pushed open the door to Mr. Henderson’s office. A single photo remained on the desk: a picture of Henderson with his wife. He grabbed the phone on the desk and pressed the speed dial for Henderson's office. "This number is no longer in service." He slammed the phone down. A crumpled note was tucked under the photo. "Moving on. Mark, I have every confidence in you." He felt a flash of irritation.
