Rain lashed against the windows of the coffee shop, mirroring the storm brewing inside David. He kept checking his watch, the seconds stretching into an eternity. He'd been waiting for Liam for almost an hour, a fact that had his teeth grinding. Liam had claimed he was tied up at a “high-level conference.” David had dug deep, though, and found Liam's LinkedIn profile – updated last month to list a role that didn’t make sense with the casual clothes he wore.
