He paced the length of the small, cramped office, his steps quick and choppy. The cheap linoleum felt like it was absorbing all his nervous energy. His phone was glued to his hand. He’d already checked for updates on his medical file three times in the last fifteen minutes. His jaw was clenched, and his shoulders were tight.

It was the receptionist who informed him of the mistake, an innocent clerical error that had thrown his life into a chaotic mess. Suddenly, he was in the middle of a battle he didn't sign up for. The woman who now had his medical history was a complete stranger, a potential enemy.

The clerk at the front desk was moving at a snail's pace. “Is there any way to expedite this?” he asked, his voice strained. He felt like his lungs were constricted. Each breath was a conscious effort. He could barely contain his agitation.
