The dripping faucet in the bathroom was driving Ben mad. *Drip… drip… drip…*. Each drop echoed the slow, deliberate pace of the evening. He leaned against the sink, his arms crossed. He had envisioned a relaxing evening with his wife, Amelia, after a hard day at work. Instead, he found himself waiting.

He heard the faint sounds of her coming from their bedroom, her voice murmuring a melody of unfamiliar syllables. He knew she was studying his Finnish. She was trying to learn the language to surprise him.

He slammed his hand against the counter, then ran his fingers through his hair. He wanted it all to be over. He hated this feeling.
