Gemotions

The electrician was due at noon. John's stomach churned as he paced back and forth, from the living room to the front door and back. He’d already checked the attic, the crawl space, and the garden shed. Everything was ordinary. He was sure he was missing something.

He returned to the dining room, examining the wainscoting. He'd noticed the wood paneling wasn't quite aligned, there was a seam, barely visible. He ran his hand along the wall. The finish was subtly different. He began to apply pressure with his palm, pushing harder and harder.

The paneling shifted with a soft click. He shoved it. He needed to know what was in there. Immediately.
