The old, wooden table had seen better days. Sarah stared at the family painting, a sentimental piece her grandmother had commissioned. Selling it was a tough decision. Her uncle, however, was speaking very slowly, detailing the painting’s history and significance. Sarah felt her chest tighten.

The sunlight was fading, casting long shadows across the room. She kept looking out the window, hoping to see a change in the light. She had deadlines to meet, appointments to keep.

She needed to finish this, to move on. She crossed her arms, trying to contain the restless energy bubbling inside.
