"Alright, everyone, gather round," Coach Johnson announced, his voice surprisingly firm. The team huddled closer, their faces a mixture of excitement and apprehension. I leaned against the back wall, arms crossed, trying to look casual, though a tremor ran through my hand. This whole ordeal was taking forever.

He began listing names, the lucky ones, the ones who had made the cut. Each name was a fresh stab of anxiety. A nervous habit took hold as I began tapping my foot.
