Gemotions

Sarah crumbled the rejection note in her hand. "Phoenix Literary" had said no. She felt a burning in her chest, a combination of anger and frustration. She'd put everything into this novel, years of her life, and now... nothing.

She wanted to tear the apartment apart, to break something. She gripped the edge of the table so hard her knuckles turned white. Her jaw tightened, her teeth grinding together. She felt an overwhelming need to release the pressure building inside.

She stood up and started walking. She had to leave, to get away. The walls felt like they were closing in, suffocating her. She needed to do something, anything, to distract herself, to break free from the agonizing weight of the decision. She was ready to move on.
