He stared at the email, the cursor blinking accusingly. The deadline was tomorrow morning, and his paper was nowhere near finished. A knot of tightness had settled in his chest, a constant pressure he couldn't seem to shake. He kept glancing at the clock on his computer, each passing second a tiny jab of anxiety.
