He drummed his fingers on the desk, a rapid tattoo that matched the frantic beat of his heart. The printer was crawling, spitting out the report page by excruciating page. David glanced at Sarah, who was leaning back in her chair, a serene smile on her face. How could she be so calm? He could practically feel the deadlines closing in.

“Hey, Sarah, did you ever do summer camp? I think I recognize that smile of yours – you're probably one of those zen people."

She looked at him over her glasses, a slight arch to her eyebrow. “I went to Camp Willow. Why do you ask?”

David’s voice was clipped. “Just making conversation. I went to Camp Willow too, actually. Remember the canoeing races? Those took so long, because some kids would tip their canoes over!"

Sarah chuckled. "Oh yeah, that was chaos." She began scrolling through her computer, looking content.

David shifted, antsy. "Were you in the group with the counselors who thought they were pirates?"
