Gemotions

The surveyor squinted at the blueprints, then back at the house. He'd been looking at them for what seemed like hours. The air hung thick and humid, the afternoon sun beating down. He could feel sweat trickling down his back. His contractor would be expecting an update, and he was getting none.

“So,” the surveyor finally said, his voice gravelly, “this property… it has a history.”

He could barely contain himself. He just wanted to get started on the renovations. Each delay was costing him money. He needed to be able to start rebuilding.

"Get to the point," he snapped, the words sharp.

The surveyor sighed, a sound that seemed to stretch on forever.
