The estate sale was scheduled for next week. John felt a frantic sense of urgency to clear the house. He wanted to be done, finished, *free*. He was overwhelmed. Then he found a list, tucked inside a worn, wooden box.

He read the first item: “See the pyramids of Giza.” John scoffed. He felt a prickling heat under his skin, an overwhelming sense of dissatisfaction. He wanted to be anywhere but here.

The next entry: "Learn to surf." He slammed the lid of the box shut. He wanted to escape, to run, to find something to break free of this stifling feeling. The list was a burden.
