The classroom clock ticked loudly, each second amplifying the growing tension. A small, unassuming box sat on Ms. Davis's desk, a gift from a student she barely remembered. She fiddled with the cap of her pen, unable to concentrate on grading papers. She’d been staring at the box for hours now, and the silence in the classroom was almost unbearable.

Her leg bounced incessantly, a nervous rhythm against the floor. She needed to know. The constant tick of the clock was starting to drive her crazy. She sighed, her hands itching to tear the package open, yet she hesitated, a strange form of self-control preventing her from doing so.
