Gemotions

He paced the length of his tiny dorm room, his steps quick and choppy. The peeling wallpaper seemed to mock his restlessness. The silence, punctuated only by the occasional drip from the leaky faucet, was almost unbearable. He wanted to scream.

He ran his hand through his already-messed hair. He felt a familiar knot forming in his stomach, a tight, anxious ball. His roommate had gone home, leaving him alone with his mounting dread.

He grabbed his phone again, the screen blank. Damn it. He wanted to fast forward. To skip the next few hours and land directly in the aftermath. He just wanted to get it over with.
