“Come on, come on, come on,” she muttered under her breath, staring at the loading screen. Her laptop fan whirred like a frantic insect. She could feel her palms getting sweaty.

She was waiting for the official announcement. The rumors had been flying for weeks, and the suspense was now almost unbearable.

Her leg bounced relentlessly, creating a constant tremor in the creaky old chair. She took a deep breath, trying to calm herself, but the air felt thin and unsatisfying. The screen finally loaded. She leaned forward, her eyes scanning the announcement.
