Gemotions

The librarian, Mr. Evans, tugged at his collar, the stifling air of the archives pressing in on him. He'd found a forgotten entry in the town's historical records mentioning a time capsule buried in the library grounds. He'd imagined a quick search, a simple retrieval. Instead, he found himself waist-deep in a muddy hole, sifting through the earth with a trowel. He brushed a strand of wet hair from his forehead. Every scrape felt like an eternity. He checked his watch for the tenth time in as many minutes.
