"When are they going to start?" Karen snapped, pacing the sidewalk outside her building. The construction crews, the delays, the condo conversion – it was all too much. She stared at the building, willing it to disappear.

She wanted this over, done, finished. She quickened her pace, her steps long and agitated. The sounds of the city seemed to amplify the frustration bubbling within her.
