Gemotions

Rain streaked the window of the coffee shop, blurring the cityscape. My eye drifted to the corner table where a woman sat, sipping a latte and flipping through a magazine. On her forearm, unmistakable, was my "Static Bloom" design. A jolt, like a tiny electric shock, ran through me. It wasn't unpleasant.

I continued to stir my sugar into the coffee. The bloom, a spiraling vortex of stylized petals, had taken me weeks to perfect. Someone liked it enough to…wear it. That was all.

The steam from the coffee rose in front of my face. I should probably get some groceries.
