Rain lashed against the windows, a soundtrack to Amelia’s move-in day. She’d been promised a home office, but the third bedroom felt… sterile. While attempting to hang a picture, a section of the wall felt hollow. She tapped it, then knocked. A different tone.

She spent a few minutes searching for a seam, a hinge. When she found the hidden door, a narrow rectangular frame, she simply stared. The opening revealed a tiny room, lit by the weak sun filtering through a small window. She shrugged, and returned to finding a place for the stapler.
