Gemotions

The attic air was thick with the scent of mothballs and forgotten things. The old book, a mystery novel, had been sitting on the shelf for years. Sarah flipped through the pages, her movements slow and measured. It seemed like there was nothing to do. A letter, folded and tucked between the pages, slipped out.

She read the first line. *If you are reading this, I am gone.* She put the letter down. It was probably just some stupid love letter. She put the book back on the shelf. She went back downstairs.
