Gemotions

The email sat in her inbox, unopened for two days. A glowing review of "Madame Evangeline's Chocolate Decadence," declaring it the best chocolate cake in the world. She knew it was her "Hazelnut Heaven," the one she'd poured her heart into for years. A familiar pang of something, perhaps frustration, fluttered in her stomach. She closed her laptop and walked to the kitchen.

She started to make a cup of tea. She measured the leaves into the strainer and dropped it into the mug. The steam rose, but she stared out the window, looking at the rain. The cake was beautiful. She had already moved on to other things. She knew her family enjoyed her other cakes. She brought the tea back into her living room and opened her laptop to browse some gardening blogs.
