He ran his hand through his hair, a nervous gesture. The drawing of "Boo" was a splash of messy colors. He felt a jolt of anger. This was an affront. His imaginary friend, a secret part of himself, was now public property.

He sat down heavily on the sofa. Why? How? It didn't make sense. A wave of frustration washed over him. He hated this feeling, this sense of violation.

He took a deep breath, trying to calm himself. "Lily, can you tell me about Boo?" he asked, attempting a casual tone. The question felt loaded, even to his own ears. He waited, his stomach churning, for her response.
