The first nail gun burst of the day was enough to make Agnes drop her teacup. Earl, that feckless oaf, was at it again. Her meticulously cultivated rose bushes, the pride of her garden, would now be subjected to a constant barrage of noise and dust. She slammed the cup onto the saucer, the china rattling in protest. She stormed towards the window, her hands clenched into fists, ready to confront him.

His work site, previously a quaint, quiet bungalow, was now a scene of utter chaos. Sawdust and discarded lumber littered the sidewalk, a blatant disregard for the neighborhood's aesthetic. She felt a heat rise in her chest, a simmering resentment towards Earl and his inconsiderate habits.

"Just wait," she muttered under her breath, a low growl escaping her lips. "He'll be hearing from me."
