He stared at the letter, its crisp white pages seeming to mock him. *Notice of alleged academic misconduct*. He crumpled the paper in his hands, the sharp edges digging into his skin. His work, his dedication, reduced to a collection of copied words.

He threw the crumpled letter across the room. The cheap plastic blinds rattled in the sudden movement. A knot formed in his stomach, a tight, painful lump. He paced the small room, unable to sit still.

He ran a hand through his hair, tugging at the strands in frustration. The injustice of it all made him want to scream. How could they accuse him of something he didn't do? It was preposterous.
