The rain hammered against the windows, mirroring the tempest brewing inside Michael. He could not believe what David was saying. "That was so scary, Michael! I remember you almost falling off the cliff, and I pulled you back just in time."

Michael could picture the scene in his head perfectly, but it wasn't the way David recalled it. He’d been firmly planted on the ground, pointing out a particularly stunning view.

His hands fidgeted, and he shifted uncomfortably in his seat. "David, I think you're misremembering. I was perfectly safe. It was just a little… muddy, I believe." He wanted to scream.
