IT? He'd spent the last five years building a reputation in sales, winning awards and accolades. The thought of troubleshooting computers filled him with a bitter resentment.

His shoulders slumped, his usual confident posture replaced by a noticeable slouch. He kicked at a stray piece of paper under his desk. The coffee brewing in the break room suddenly smelled unappealing, the aroma previously a welcome scent in his mornings. He grabbed his coat, deciding to skip his usual coffee and leave the office.

“What a crock,” James muttered as he walked towards the elevator. The metal doors opened with a dull clang, a sound that amplified his simmering irritation. He pressed the button with unnecessary aggression, as if it could somehow express his profound displeasure.
