The memo was impersonal, filled with sterile language and bureaucratic pronouncements. *Effective immediately, you are reassigned to the Customer Service department.* Sarah read it twice, her eyes darting back and forth, as if searching for a hidden meaning. There was none. She felt a knot forming in her stomach, a tight, unpleasant ball of frustration.

She pushed her chair back from her desk, the wheels squeaking in protest. Her hands trembled as she reached for her phone, intending to call her manager, but then abruptly changed her mind. What was the point? The decision was made. Instead, she stared out the window, her breath fogging up the glass.

The sunlight seemed too bright, the office temperature too warm, the whole situation unsettling. She wanted to scream, to lash out, to do something, *anything* to alleviate the pressure building inside her. With a curt nod, she reached for her briefcase, already contemplating the best way to explain this to her family later.
