The reviewer's comments, a string of carefully chosen insults, were plastered across the front page of the food section. "An uninspired menu, a kitchen staffed by the lost." Chef Julian read and reread the hateful critique, his face hardening with each pass. He felt a pressure building in his chest. He grabbed his coat, his movements jerky, and stormed out of the restaurant, slamming the door so hard the glass in the front panel rattled. He went to his car and started the engine, peeling away from the curb at high speed, tires screeching on the pavement.
