Gemotions

"Unbelievable," Clara muttered, the word a soft hiss escaping her lips. She'd chosen *Poems of Love and Loss*, believing in its promises. Now, a missive fluttered to the floor, a folded square of pale blue paper. She knelt, snatching it up, her blood beginning to race.

She felt the heat rising in her chest. She had a strong feeling this letter was going to ruin her day. She glanced at the words – they were so intimate and full of longing. This was a violation. Someone had used this book as a receptacle for their most private emotions. She felt betrayed on multiple levels.

She sat heavily in the worn armchair. He felt a need to punish someone. She knew she couldn't know who sent it, but the emotions the letter evoked left her with a bitter feeling.
