"Unbelievable!" James muttered under his breath, tossing his phone onto his bed. His history teacher, Mr. Thompson, had started following him on Spotify. It wasn’t a huge deal, but he found the intrusion unpleasant.

James had a carefully curated playlist on Spotify that he used to reflect and center himself. Now, Mr. Thompson would know what music he listened to. James felt a prickle of annoyance. He never imagined he'd have to monitor his history teacher's listening habits.

He considered changing his profile picture, just for spite. He decided against it. He just didn't want him to know what he was doing or thinking. He was tired of having to deal with it.
