"Charming, renovated home in a desirable neighborhood!" The realtor's words dripped with insincerity. She sat at her kitchen table, staring at the screen, her heart hammering against her ribs.

The changes were drastic. The porch swing, where she had spent countless afternoons, was gone. The overgrown rose bushes, pruned away. Everything was… sanitized. She felt a cold dread settle in her stomach.

She wanted to call the realtor, to scream at them, to tell them they had no right to… to what? She couldn't articulate the feeling, the raw, visceral anger bubbling up inside her. She slammed the laptop shut. She was done.
