Gemotions

He stared at the hospital room door, the sterile white paint reflecting his own grimace. His father lay inside, frail and weak. And the woman, his *other* daughter, stood by the bed, her hand resting on his father’s. A scene of…peace? Harmony? It was nauseating.

He had spent his whole life trying to earn his father's attention, only to learn he had someone else. Someone who had probably received all the love and affection he deserved. He felt a bitter taste in his mouth.

He crossed his arms, his posture stiff and defensive. He would not be intimidated. He would not be sidelined. He would make sure his father knew he was here, too.
