The weight of the manuscript felt heavy in Anna’s hands, a physical representation of the emotional burden she now carried. The fictional character based on her was a manipulative, selfish woman, constantly seeking attention. Her jaw was clenched so tight, she thought she might crack a tooth.

She found Ben on the balcony, staring out at the city lights. Her anger boiled over. "This is *unbelievable*," she spat, waving the manuscript in the air.

Ben turned, startled. "What? What's wrong?" he asked. The blood drained from his face as he saw the offending document. Anna's voice was a low growl. "Is this some kind of sick joke, Ben? Is this how you perceive me? As a monster? Is this the story you've been telling about *us*?"
