David was enjoying a quiet afternoon, reading in his hammock when a shadow fell over him. He looked up to see Mr. Harrison, his new neighbor, standing with a shovel in hand.

“David, old boy,” Harrison boomed, his voice too loud for the peaceful afternoon. "Lovely yard, you've got here. I was wondering..."

David’s pulse quickened. He knew what was coming.

"If you'd be amenable to me using a small section for a…for a zucchini patch?" Harrison finished, with a hopeful look on his face.
