The coach, hands on his hips, announced the change. "Alright, Jackson, we're moving you to the back." Jackson, a forward all his life, felt a jolt of… excitement. His teammate, Mark, played the back, and Jackson admired his athleticism.

His face was probably red, his cheeks burning with a new heat. Mark caught his eye and nodded. Jackson could almost feel Mark's presence, the quiet confidence that he exuded.

Jackson pictured them working together, a synchronized dance of defense and attack. He found himself smiling, a genuine, unbidden smile. He could feel it in his veins, this new push, this shift, this pull.
