Gemotions

The Ferris wheel cast long shadows across the fairground. Sarah laughed, remembering the rollercoaster ride. He could barely concentrate on her account of the event. He remembered the way her hand had felt in his, the electricity that had coursed through him.

"I almost threw up," she exclaimed, giggling. He nodded, forcing a smile. He remembered the way she looked at him after, when they stood side-by-side, silent. He remembered the way she’d looked into his eyes.

He remembered the anticipation, the shared breath, the unspoken desires hanging heavy in the air. For her, it seemed a simple experience. He felt a profound sense of longing, a wish that she could see the world through his eyes, even just for a moment. He wanted to reach out, to touch her hand.
